Design 1, Opulence 2018

Kaya Middleton is an exceptional undergraduate student in the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University. She is majoring in Fashion Management with a concentration in Product Development in the department of Fiber Science and Apparel Design. She is also pursuing a minor in Interior Design in the department of Design Environmental Analysis. She has a keen interest in entrepreneurship, sustainable design, and social reform in the fashion industry. An avid environmentalist, Kaya plans to develop her own eco-friendly, socially responsible luxury brand, Kaymid, with the goal of producing ethical clothing and accessories for a long-lasting sustainable future.

Kaya has interned for various luxury fashion brands such as Ralph Lauren Corporation and Wes Gordon, LLC, as well as for boutique fashion brands such as Pelush, Luxury Faux Furs and Deborah Johnson Studios. Not only has Kaya designed collections for runway shows, but she also has experience with managing and assisting fashion shows and working as a personal design assistant to many up-and-coming designers. She also has lab experience working as an assistant researcher at Cornell University, helping to conduct data analysis for fashion manufacturers, Lab 141, on an innovative fabric bonding technology.

 

 

 

 

Kaymid* was created, developed, and executed by designer, Kaya Middleton. She plans to further establish the Kaymid brand by continuing to enhance her design aesthetic and fashion products to create a cohesive clothing label during her undergraduate and post-graduate career at Cornell.
